My husband and I both work from home now and we desperately needed a better setup for both of our home offices. While mine still needs some major TLC, his is totally finished! This week I’m excited to be sharing the final touches to his modern industrial home office.
This post is sponsored by Wayfair but all opinions are 100% my own.
Guest Room/Home Office
My husband’s office also doubles as a guest bedroom so I wanted his workspace to be functional but also match the rest of the furniture and décor in that room. In previous posts I’ve shared build plans for furniture in this room and also some DIY décor pieces. Below are photos of the previous projects along with links to the build plans.
This guest room is beautiful yet masculine and has a very modern industrial feel. I figured it would be a great room for my husbands workspace. I’m currently working on a TV stand and I’ll also be building a bed for this room (plans to come). Pretty soon it will be 100% furnished! The only other thing that the workspace was missing was a proper chair and some functional décor. I was able to find what I needed from Wayfair. Want to see what I got?
Industrial Shelves
The wall behind the desk was too bare and really needed some décor. I went with shelving so that my husband could have a place for his notebooks and such. Then I styled the rest of it with things that I love. The Woodland Park Industrial 2-Tiered Wall Shelf was perfect for this space. It not only fit perfectly on our wall but also matched the furniture that I’ve built for the room.
I was super happy to have a place to showcase the shadow box that I made for my husband a few years ago that displays some memorabilia from his grandfather’s time in the military. Below is a closer look at the shelves. I wasn’t sure how the finish would look with the desk but I think it ended up matching really well.

The Perfect Office Chair
My husband works a lot. I mean A LOT! He needed a supportive chair for his desk but I wanted something that matched the design of the room. For the headboard in that room I’m planning on going with a charcoal upholstered look so I set out to find a chair to match.
The Penny Tufted Task Chair from Wayfair was absolutely perfect for our needs. It’s pretty but also very supportive and comfortable. The chair is wider than most computer chairs but it fit underneath the desk just fine. It’s also very deep so for my husband who is 6′-1″ it’s very comfortable.
He totally loves it as you can see below.
The chair fits very nicely in the open space on the desk.

I’m so happy to have finished up this workspace. Now I just need to finish the last two pieces of furniture for this room and then we’ll be ready for our next guests.

It look really beautiful, compact and tidy I love it. Pinned
Thank you. 🙂
I love that it combines industrial with comfort as well. It looks clean and open, well-organized and the neutral colors are very calming… all great things for an office!
