Hi Friends! I’m so excited to be sharing my patio renovation with you all today. If you read my last post all about my patio makeover plans you already know what I’ve been working on and my design plans. I’ve been crazy busy over the past few weeks finishing up this project and now I’m at a point where I can actually enjoy my new colorful patio!
Before we get to the reveal let me remind you of how horrible my patio looked just a few weeks ago…
Before
It needed some major TLC and a lot of color. I replaced the top boards on the railings and applied the first coat of stain to the deck. It will need one more coat but I’ll have to wait for a dry weekend to finish it completely.
I feel so lucky to have partnered with Wayfair on this project to add some much needed beautiful decor to my deck. Keep scrolling to check it out! This post is sponsored by Wayfair but all opinions are 100% my own.
After
Isn’t it so much better? I’m 100% certain that I’ll be spending as much time as possible on my new colorful patio this summer.
Colorful Patio Decor
Rugs
This beautiful rug was the centerpiece of my design. I already had the blue conversation patio set from Lowes that I purchased years ago and the floral pillows that I’m pretty sure I got from Home Depot years ago. This rug pulled in those colors perfectly! It’s very high quality. I was also pleased that it dries fast after getting rained on. The rug was soaking wet this morning after our rainstorm but by the afternoon it was almost dry. My deck is in the sun most of the day so I’m sure that helps.
I also put doormats at each of the doors that lead out to my deck. We’re always tracking dirt into the house so these cute doormats should help to cut down on that.
Pillows
To add a little more of the red, yellow and orange from the rug, I paired it with this super cute lumbar pillow. It’s very firm which is exactly what you want for lower back support.
Planters
We love cooking with fresh herbs at my house so I used all of my pots to grow herbs and lettuce. You may have noticed the two cactus planters. I can’t get enough of these! They are a great size for side table decor and to grow herbs. The first one is a little larger and more green. The second one has more of a blue green color to it.
I also got two 3 piece ceramic pot sets which came with a variety of sizes. One is a light blue and the other is a dark blue. They seem to be out of stock of the light blue ones right now but there is a link to more planters below the picture.
Candles
We live in Ohio so mosquitoes are unfortunately something that we have to deal with all the time. Citronella candles are a must when we are outdoors at night and I found these cute little blue ones that come in a set of four. I didn’t notice online that they have a fish pattern on them but that was a nice surprise.
Here are a few more angles of the finished colorful patio. The little red side tables are from Home Depot.
Future Blog Posts
I’m working on two blog post tutorials that I’ll come back and link to when they are ready. Here is a breakdown of what’s to come in the next few weeks:
- Step by step tutorial on how I refinished my deck
- Build plans for the cedar planters/benches
- Build plans for a cedar plant stand to hold my pots
This deck is so close to being completely finished and I couldn’t be happier with the space.
